I am a 26 year old mom. I have always tried to provide healthy foods for my family but recently decided to try to feed my family only chemical free foods. This basically means foods with no preservatives, dyes, artificial flavors, or additives of  any kind. This requires that I make a lot of things from scratch rather than spending a lot of extra money on natural brands. I also try to serve as many whole grains and fresh produce as possible. We are not vegetarians, vegans, or non-gluten people. Although, the reason I began this no chemical diet was as an experiment to see if it helps with my 4 year olds behavior who has some developmental delays and is exhibiting symptoms of ADHD.  He has always had dark circles under his eyes that the doctor thinks are allergy related so we are attempting this diet to see if it could be a chemical sensitivity. So, if this no chemical diet does not work I may attempt a non-dairy diet for a short while followed by a gluten free diet (to see if either of those help him). I plan on sticking to the chemical free diet throughout all of that so that will be the main focus of this blog.
